Room-Temperature Multiferroicity and Magnetization Dynamics in Fe/BTO/LSMO Tunnel Junction

Jakub Pawlak et al.

Summary: This article discusses the magneto-transport properties of Fe/BTO/LSMO multiferroic tunnel junction, grown on a crystalline STO substrate, with specific focus on static, dynamic, and temperature-dependent behavior. The study shows high tunneling electroresistance and tunneling magnetoresistance in the MFTJ at room temperature. Temperature measurements reveal an exponential decrease in TMR with increasing temperature, while TER remains temperature independent. Electric ferromagnetic resonance measurements demonstrate the presence of two resonance peaks, attributed to LSMO and Fe, respectively.

Angular Harmonic Hall Voltage and Magnetoresistance Measurements of Pt/FeCoB and Pt-Ti/FeCoB Bilayers for Spin Hall Conductivity Determination

Witold Skowronski et al.

Summary: Materials with significant spin-orbit coupling are capable of efficient spin-to-charge interconversion, which is useful in novel spin electronic devices. This study introduces a measurement protocol for heavy metal/ferromagnetic bilayers to determine the spin Hall conductivity accurately, showing promising results with high values exceeding those typically measured in other heavy metals.

An Analysis of Kikuchi Lines Observed with a RHEED Apparatus for a TiO2-Terminated SrTiO3 (001) Crystal

Jakub Pawlak et al.

Summary: This study interpreted electron diffraction patterns observed under high vacuum conditions for a SrTiO3 surface with a focus on inelastic effects. By carefully preparing the SrTiO2 surface, conclusions were made regarding the termination with single domains of TiO2 layers at the top, as well as the formal connection between the two types of Kikuchi lines observed.

Room-temperature ferroelectric switching of spin-to-charge conversion in germanium telluride

Sara Varotto et al.

Summary: The ferroelectric polarization in epitaxial germanium telluride films can be used to control spin-to-charge conversion through electrical gating. The conversion magnitude is similar to that observed with platinum, but the charge current sign is controlled by the orientation of ferroelectric polarization. The inverse spin Hall effect plays a major role in switchable conversion, as indicated by the comparison between theoretical and experimental data.

Room-Temperature Antiferromagnetic Resonance and Inverse Spin-Hall Voltage in Canted Antiferromagnets

I Boventer et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that spin pumping signals induced by the resonance of canted antiferromagnets with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction can generate easily observable inverse spin-Hall voltages. Using a bilayer of hematite/heavy metal as a model system, the research shows that antiferromagnetic resonance and associated inverse spin-Hall voltages can be measured at room temperature. Direct information about the mode handedness can be obtained by comparing different materials.

Spin-orbit torque induced magnetization dynamics and switching in a CoFeB/Ta/CoFeB system with mixed magnetic anisotropy

Stanislaw Lazarski et al.

Summary: The study investigates the spin-orbit torque induced magnetization switching in a CoFeB/Ta/CoFeB trilayer, with modifications in interlayer exchange coupling and magnetic anisotropy axes orientation by varying the thickness of the heavy metal Ta spacer. The control of CoFeB layer magnetization state and the increase in SOT induced critical current density with decreasing Ta spacer thickness are crucial factors in achieving field-free magnetization switching.
