A Millimeter-Wave Spoof-Surface-Plasmon-Polaritons-Fed Dual-Polarized Microstrip Patch Antenna Array

Di Cao et al.

Summary: This article proposes a novel millimeter-wave dual-polarized microstrip patch antenna array fed by spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs). The radiators are dual-polarized single-layered square patch antennas fed by SSPPs, which achieve promising performance by directly connecting two orthogonal SSPPs with two edges of the square patch. The designed feed network and patch elements realize a 1x4 SSPPs-fed dual-polarized microstrip patch antenna array with a bandwidth of 15% and dual-polarized broadside radiations. The presented designs are valuable for emerging millimeter-wave applications due to their simple single-layered geometry and dual-polarized unidirectional radiation.

Bandpass Filter With Reconfigurable Rejection and Deep-Upper-Wideband Harmonics Suppression Using Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons of Hollowed-Bow-Tie Cells

Leidan Pan et al.

Summary: A bandpass filter with a reconfigurable rejection is designed by utilizing spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) of hollowed-bow-tie (HBT) cells. The filter demonstrates advantages of low crosstalk and tightly confined fields with harmonics suppression level above 20 dB from 6 to 16 GHz. The rejection level of the filter can be adjusted by regulating the bias voltage.

A Compact Axial-Mode Helical Antenna Based on Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons

Zhang Wen Cheng et al.

Summary: A compact axial-mode helical antenna based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) is presented. The antenna consists of an SSPP waveguide, a matching metal strip, and a reflective metal ground. The proposed SSPP AMHA offers a reduction in size and good circular polarization performance compared to traditional antennas, and has potential applications in radar and wireless communication systems.

An Ultra-Compact Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Transmission Line and Its Signal Integrity Analysis

Zi Hua You et al.

Summary: An ultra-compact spoof surface plasmon polariton transmission line (UCSSPP TL) based on a meander line is proposed, achieving nearly the same transmission performance as conventional SSPP TL with a significant reduction in linewidth. The coupling effect between UCSSPP TLs in different line arrangements is studied, showing excellent crosstalk suppression in back-to-back arrangements and strong coupling in face-to-back or face-to-face arrangements. The signal integrity of back-to-back UCSSPP TLs is analyzed and demonstrated to be greatly improved compared to microstrip TLs. Additionally, an ultra-miniaturized SSPP coupler is designed using face-to-face UCSSPP TLs, achieving a size reduction of over 75% compared to conventional microstrip couplers.
