Heteroscedastic sparse Gaussian process regression-based stochastic material model for plastic structural analysis

Baixi Chen et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a data-driven approach - HSGPR model, to simulate the material flow stress and its uncertainty. The experimental data of Al 6061 alloy is used to validate the model, and the results show that the HSGPR model performs better in predicting experimental stress data than other machine learning methods. Furthermore, when applied to finite element analysis, the HSGPR model accurately predicts the distribution of the structural load carrying capacity at elevated temperatures and the variation of load-displacement curves.
