Core-Shell Engineering of Conductive Fillers toward Enhanced Dielectric Properties: A Universal Polarization Mechanism in Polymer Conductor Composites

Wenying Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, the polarization mechanism of polymer conductor composites is investigated, revealing that it is determined by electron transport across multiple neighboring conductive fillers. By optimizing the filler-cluster size, a novel percolative composite with high dielectric constant and low loss is prepared.

Polarization Mechanism Underlying Strongly Enhanced Dielectric Permittivity in Polymer Composites with Conductive Fillers

Bo Li et al.

Summary: This study explores the dielectric response of a composite material consisting of ethylene-propylene-diene elastomer and carbon black nanofillers. It reveals that the dielectric relaxation is primarily determined by electron displacement within carbon black clusters, contradicting widely assumed interfacial polarization mechanisms. The dielectric response of the composites can be quantitatively correlated with the morphology of the carbon black clusters via a set of scaling laws.

Decoupling of inter-particle polarization and intra-particle polarization in core-shell structured nanocomposites towards improved dielectric performance

Wenying Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigates polymer nanocomposites containing a series of Al@Al2O3 nanofillers with different shell thicknesses. It demonstrates that forming an insulating shell enables independent control of intra-particle polarization and inter-particle polarization, leading to high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss. This core-shell structured nanocomposites not only surpass unmodified nanofiller composites in terms of dielectric properties, but also improve thermal conductivity and field resistivity, resulting in stable operation at low temperatures.

Phase transformations in FeCo - Fe2CoO4/Co3O4-spinel nanostructures as a result of thermal annealing and their practical application

M. V. Zdorovets et al.

Summary: This research found that the formation of oxide spinel structures of type Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 through thermal annealing can increase the number of cycles for nanotubes by 1.5-1.7 times. The effectiveness of increasing the lifetime of anode materials is attributed to the enhanced resistance to degradation of Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 structures, leading to the acceleration of lithation processes.
