Structural and optical properties of vacancy-ordered double halide perovskites, Cs2TiI6 films

Sameen Aslam et al.

Summary: In this study, titanium-based vacancy-ordered double halide perovskite Cs2TiI6 was synthesized for the first time, and its structural and optical properties were investigated. The Cs2TiI6 film showed a cubic structure with a crystallite size of 22 nm and exhibited strong and wide optical absorption in the visible spectrum. These titanium-based perovskites exhibit promising optoelectronic properties, providing a new possibility for the development of high-performance and stable non-toxic perovskite devices.

Optimization of Hole and Electron Transport Layer for Highly Efficient Lead-Free Cs2TiBr6-Based Perovskite Solar Cell

Syed Abdul Moiz

Summary: The methylammonium lead halide solar cell has gained attention due to its lightweight, low cost, and simple fabrication. However, its commercialization is hindered by the toxicity of lead. Cs2TiBr6 has been considered as a lead-free alternative, but it lacks matched hole and electron transport layers, resulting in lower power conversion efficiency. This study determined the ideal parameters for the hole and electron transport layers in Cs2TiBr6-based solar cells through simulation. The highest power conversion efficiency of 20.4% was achieved with optimized parameters. However, no suitable materials were found with the required electronic structure. Therefore, polymer NPB and CeOx were selected as hole and electron transport layers, resulting in a maximum power conversion efficiency of approximately 17.94%.

Stability and degradation in triple cation and methyl ammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells mediated via Au and Ag electrodes

Kakaraparthi Kranthiraja et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on methyl ammonium lead iodide (MAPbI(3)) have shown high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs), but their long-term stability remains a challenge. This study analyzes the impact of different electrode collector layers on the degradation mechanism of the perovskite absorber, and finds that PSCs with Au electrodes outperform those with Ag electrodes in terms of PCE and operational stability. Photoluminescence spectroscopy reveals the interaction between Ag and the absorber, leading to degradation, while Au does not suppress the emission spectrum. These findings are important for the design of new electrode materials and the commercialization of PSCs.
