Numerical modeling of shaped charge jet penetration into ceramic-metal double-layered medium using smoothed particle hydrodynamics

Jian-Yu Chen et al.

Summary: This paper applies the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method to simulate the damage effects of shaped charge projectile on ceramic-metal multi-layered target. The presented SPH model is capable of accurately reproducing the penetration process and fracture patterns observed in experiments.

Experimental and Numerical Study on Dynamic Response of Foam-Nickel Sandwich Panels under Near-Field Blast Loading

Pengzhao Xu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the damage mechanism and protective effect of a sandwich structure based on foam-nickel core material under near-field blast load. Experimental methods are used to study the deformation characteristics and stress history of the sandwich structure on the acting location of blast load. A reasonable finite element model is also established for comprehensive numerical simulations of the sandwich structure's blast shock response. The results suggest that the sandwich structure based on foam-nickel core material can be a viable choice for protective structures under near-field blast load due to its extensive energy absorption capabilities.

Study on Penetration Mechanism of Shaped-Charge Jet under Dynamic Conditions

Yizhen Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a mathematical model was proposed to analyze the characteristics of a shaped-charge jet during the dynamic penetration process. The results showed that with an increase in the target moving speed, the disturbed time of the jet advanced and the dynamic penetration depth decreased. Additionally, as the velocity of the target increased, the penetration length of the unperturbed jet decreased and stabilized, while the penetration length of the perturbed jet also decreased.

S. V. Fedorov

Summary: According to calculation data, the penetration capability of shaped charges can be significantly increased by improving their fabrication accuracy. To achieve this, cut-off rods can be used to eliminate the high-velocity portion of the shaped-charge jet.

Study on Penetration Performance of Rear Shaped Charge Warhead

Yanan Du et al.

Summary: The study focused on the penetration performance of the shaped charge jet warhead on the target, showing variations in penetration depth under different conditions. Results indicate that the penetration performance of the warhead weakens under non-optimal conditions.
