Synthesis of Al and In dual-doped CuO nanostructures via SILAR method: Structural, optical and electrical properties

O. Kahveci et al.

Summary: In this study, Al-doped CuO (ACO) and Al/In co-doped CuO (AICO) thin films were synthesized on glass substrates using the solution-based successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) technique. The surface morphology, chemical composition, structural, optical, and electrical properties of the films were characterized. The results showed that the thickness of the films influenced their optical transmittance, and the co-doping of Al and In affected the absorption bands and bandgap energy.

Effect of Ga doping on optical transmittance and electrical conductivity of CdS thin films

Gilya Sungi et al.

Summary: Ga doped CdS thin films were deposited on Soda Lime Glass substrates by Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) method, and the effects of different Ga doping concentrations on the structural, surface morphology, optical and electrical properties of the films were studied. XRD analysis showed that the deposited films had polycrystalline hexagonal phase with preferred orientation along the (002) planes. Raman spectroscopy indicated an increase in spectral intensity for the doped films compared to undoped CdS films. AFM and SEM analysis revealed that the grain size and roughness increased with higher doping concentrations. Ga doping significantly increased the transmittance of the films, with a maximum average transmittance of about 76% for a film doped with 0.002 M of Ga concentration. The optical band gap for both undoped and doped films was in the range of 2.28 eV-2.44 eV. The electrical resistivity of the films decreased with increasing dopant concentration, but increased beyond 0.002 M.

Production of p-CuO/n-ZnO:Co nanocomposite heterostructure thin films: An optoelectronic study

O. Kahveci et al.

Summary: This study attempts to synthesize nanostructured p-type CuO and n-type ZnO nanocomposite films using a solution-based method. Bare and Cobalt (Co)-doped CuO-ZnO nanocomposite films were produced on glass slides using the SILAR method, and the influence of Co-doping concentration on the physical characteristics of the films was investigated. XRD spectrums confirmed the phase and structural purity of the synthesized CuO-ZnO nanocomposite samples. The surface topography, optical and electrical properties of the films were also examined. The 2.0% Co-doped CuO-ZnO nanocomposite film showed a higher optical transmission (-31%) near 1000 nm wavelength compared to the bare film (-38%). The sheet resistance of the 2.0% Co:CuO-ZnO nanocomposite sample was almost 13 times lower than that of the bare sample at 400 K temperature. This study provides a novel strategy for the production and performance optimization of CuO-ZnO nanocomposite heterostructures in optoelectronics applications.
