Antidepressants and Risk of Liver Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Xiaofeng Chen et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess whether antidepressants use increases the risk of liver cancer. A total of 11 studies with 132,396 liver cancer cases were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed that antidepressants use was not associated with increased risk of liver cancer and appeared to be correlated with decreased risk. However, more prospective and methodologically rigorous studies are needed to verify this observed association.

The incidence risk of breast and gynecological cancer by antidepressant use: A systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of epidemiological studies involving 160,727 patients

Yanjia Zhuang et al.

Summary: This systematic review found that the use of antidepressants does not increase the incidence risk of female breast and gynecological cancer, and may even decrease the incidence risk of ovarian cancer. There is a non-linear or linear relationship between the dose or duration of antidepressant use and the incidence risk.
