Fuzzy-based GIS approach with new MCDM method for bike-sharing station site selection according to land-use types

Ezgi Eren et al.

Summary: This paper presents a hybrid approach including FL-GIS, AHP, VIKOR, and Psychometric-VIKOR for selecting BSS station sites. By integrating fuzzy logic, AHP, and optimization methods, the approach provides a useful tool for decision-making in urban investments involving uncertainty.

Passengers preferences for using emerging modes as first/last mile transport to and from a multimodal hub case study Delft Campus railway station

F. K. Torabi et al.

Summary: Emerging access/egress transport modes to and from railway stations may play a vital role in the future performance and usage of public transport. A case study at Delft Campus train station in the Netherlands was conducted to investigate travellers' preferences towards different modes and the impact of contextual factors. The study found that travel costs are more important than travel time for accessing or egressing from a small hub, and Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are valued as first/last mile transport modes. The interaction between contextual factors and travel attributes also influenced travellers' utility.

Environmental impact assessment of bike-sharing considering the modal shift from public transit

Kateryna Saltykova et al.

Summary: The study found that the environmental benefits of bike sharing may be overestimated without considering its substitution for public transit, highlighting the importance of examining the modal shift of bike sharing and its impact on replacing public transportation.

Extreme unbalanced mobility network in bike sharing system

Zhiguo Zheng et al.

Summary: This paper examines the spatial patterns and characteristics of imbalance in bike sharing systems, revealing that the unbalance of nodes follows a power law distribution with different exponents on weekdays and weekends. Additionally, a scaling relationship between maximum unbalance and network degree is observed in both systems.

Green travel mobility of dockless bike-sharing based on trip data in big cities: A spatial network analysis

Hui Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a network-based method to detect the travel mobility of DBS users and analyzes the characteristics of DBS networks using a data-driven framework. The study reveals that travel demands of DBS are higher during morning and evening peaks on weekdays, with network connections concentrated in central areas.

Gravity model in dockless bike-sharing systems within cities

Ruiqi Li et al.

Summary: This study examines biking traffic patterns within cities using data from dockless bike-sharing systems, revealing relationships between biking activities and distance to city center, as well as power law distributions of biking flows between fine-grained locations. It confirms the effectiveness of the gravity model in predicting biking traffic at fine spatial resolutions, while also showing the growth patterns of distance-related parameters with increasing spatial scale. Additionally, the study investigates flow patterns of special locations that are not fully explained by the gravity model.
