Au doped In2O3 nanoparticles: Preparation, and their ethanol detection with high performance

Jian Fang et al.

Summary: Precious metals doping can significantly alter the gas sensing performance of semiconductor metal oxide. In this study, Au-doped In2O3 nanoparticles were prepared using a combination solvothermal and liquid-phase reduction method. The Au-doped In2O3 nanoparticles exhibited improved gas sensing performance towards ethanol, with enhanced response, selectivity, and stability. The specific surface area of the Au-doped In2O3 nanoparticles was also found to be increased compared to undoped In2O3.
