An integrated digital polymerase chain reaction chip for multiplexed meat adulteration detection

Chengzhuang Yu et al.

Summary: Meat adulteration detection is achieved using a multiplex digital polymerase chain reaction method and a low-cost device. A polydimethylsiloxane microfluidic device is used to automatically load polymerase chain reaction reagents into microchambers. The method can distinguish DNA templates from different animal species and has a limit of detection of 3 copies/μL. The method has potential for point-of-care testing with portable microscopy equipment.

A Rapid Digital PCR System with a Pressurized Thermal Cycler

Xuee Chen et al.

Summary: A silicon-based fast-generated static droplets array (SDA) chip was designed, along with a rapid digital polymerase chain reaction (dPCR) detection platform for easy sample loading and fluorescence monitoring. A pressurized thermal cycling device was used to prevent evaporation issues and enable successful amplification of templates at the nanoliter scale. The platform demonstrated quantitative DNA molecule detection and real-time fluorescence intensity measurement capabilities.
