Socioeconomic disparities in immunotherapy use among advanced-stage non-small cell lung cancer patients: analysis of the National Cancer Database

Summary: Socioeconomic and racial disparities in access to care among patients with NSCLC exist in the United States. Lower area-level education and income were associated with lower odds of immunotherapy treatment for aNSCLC patients. These associations persisted for NH-White patients, and for NH-Black patients, only education was associated with lower immunotherapy receipt at non-academic facilities.

Racial and ethnic disparities in early treatment with immunotherapy for advanced HCC in the United States

Summary: This study investigated the efficacy of immunotherapy for advanced-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the disparities in access to immunotherapy among different racial and ethnic groups. The results showed that immunotherapy was associated with improved overall survival (OS) compared to chemotherapy. However, there were significant disparities in early access to immunotherapy, likely due to differential access to clinical trials and experimental therapies. A comprehensive approach is urgently needed to monitor and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in the management of advanced HCC.
