This paper presents an inverse method using least squares minimization technique and a non-linear numerical solving procedure for identifying frictional parameters in beam contact models. The method offers a more efficient and accurate approach for parameter identification.
Global models of aircraft structures generally require a good level of correlation with test results. In this context, the inverse identification of unknown frictional and contact parameters at contact interfaces in beam contact models may lead to inefficient long-term iterations when performed manually. Inverse methods based on optimization techniques can offer a more efficient and accurate identification. The present paper provides an inverse method using least squares minimization technique in conjunction with a non-linear numerical solving procedure. This analysis method is first illustrated through a simple example of analytical beam contact model involving friction. Its generalization to the inverse identification of parameters in beam contact models is finally presented.
