Summary: This review provides an overview of Plasmopara viticola, the causal agent of grapevine downy mildew, including its history, distribution, epidemiology, replication and infection mechanisms, symptoms, host-pathogen interactions, host resistance, and control methods. Due to the negative environmental impact of chemical pesticides and the development of resistant strains, researchers are actively seeking sustainable alternatives, such as the use of biocontrol agents.

Genetic diversity and population structure of 'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus' associated with citrus Huanglongbing in India based on the prophage types

Summary: This study analyzed 441 isolates of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CaLas) from 18 states in India using PCR, identifying three prophage types and dividing CaLas populations from different states into distinct Prophage Typing Groups. These findings provide evidence for the independent origins of HLB-associated CaLas.
