Radiomics Features of Different Sizes of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) and Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC) Tumors: A Comparative Study

Ling Zhao et al.

Summary: This study compared the radiomics features of different sizes of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) tumors, and evaluated the effectiveness of radiomics methods in differentiating between these tumor types. The findings showed that different radiomics features can effectively distinguish between MTC and PTC nodules of different sizes, and the diagnostic efficiency of combined analysis was higher than that of single radiomics features.

A Review of Radiomics and Deep Predictive Modeling in Glioma Characterization

Sonal Gore et al.

Summary: Recent advances in glioma categorization based on biological genotypes and utilization of computational machine learning or deep learning predictive models using multi-modal MRI biomarkers offer potential for optimal and personalized treatment plans. Artificial intelligence-based quantified assessment of glioma using MRI features has become crucial, as genomic alterations may be linked to MRI-based phenotypes.

Symmetrical glial hyperplasia in the brainstem of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva

Shinichiro Mori et al.

Summary: Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is a rare autosomal dominant disease characterized by progressive ossification of skeletal muscles. The causative gene for FOP has been identified as the ACVR1 gene, with mutations like R206H being common. Additionally, rare mutations like G356D have been found in some FOP patients.

Maximal tumor diameter in the preoperative tumor magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) T2 image is associated with prognosis of Grade II Glioma

Haipeng Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that the maximal tumor diameter in the preoperative tumor MRI T2 image is associated with the prognosis of grade II gliomas patients and serves as an independent factor for predicting patient outcome. Researchers also identified this diameter as a prognostic factor for overall survival (OS) and as an independent risk factor for event-free survival (EFS) in patients with grade II glioma.

Quantitative MRI-based radiomics for noninvasively predicting molecular subtypes and survival in glioma patients

Jing Yan et al.

Summary: MRI-based radiomics can be used for noninvasively detecting molecular groups and predicting survival in gliomas, regardless of grades. The image fusion model achieved high accuracy in predicting IDH and TERT status, while the cT1WI-based radiomic signature alone performed well in predicting 1p/19q status. Predictive molecular groups showed comparable prognostic value to actual ones in predicting PFS and OS. Prognostic nomograms based on grades and predictive molecular groups yielded good predictive performance for PFS and OS.
