Achieving the full-wavelength phase-matching for efficient nonlinear optical frequency conversion in C(NH2)3BF4

Miriding Mutailipu et al.

Summary: Researchers propose a full-wavelength phase-matching crystal that can avoid phase-mismatching throughout its entire optical transparency range. The anisotropic bonding strength in the energy dimension is confirmed to be the key to achieve this ability. They demonstrate a guanidinium tetrafluoroborate crystal that can be phase-matched over its entire optical transparency range, generating harmonic light as short as 193.2 nm. This work lays the foundation for finding a new class of crystals with full-wavelength phase-matching and provides a high-performance crystal for generating 266 nm light.

Sulfamide: A Promising Deep-Ultraviolet Nonlinear Optical Crystal Assembled from Polar Covalent [SO2(NH2)2] Tetrahedra

Haotian Tian et al.

Summary: For the first time, the polar covalent tetrahedron [SO2(NH2)(2)] is revealed as a new deep-ultraviolet (DUV) nonlinear optical (NLO)-active unit according to theoretical calculations. Sulfamide consisting of polar [SO2(NH2)(2)] units was confirmed as an excellent candidate as a DUV NLO crystal, achieving multiple optical performance records for non-pi-conjugated DUV NLO materials.

Recent Development of Non-π-Conjugated Deep Ultraviolet Nonlinear Optical Materials

Weiqi Huang et al.

Summary: This article introduces the research progress of deep-UV non-linear optical (NLO) materials, including the properties and structure relationship of p-conjugated and non-pi-conjugated deep-UV NLO crystals, as well as new functional groups. It is found that non-pi-conjugated deep-UV NLO materials are divided into six categories, which are important for balancing performance.

Danyang Dou et al.

Summary: In this study, metal sulfamates with heteroatomic tetrahedra structures were systematically explored, and it was found that they exhibited different crystal structures and optical properties due to the diverse arrangement of functional groups. Additionally, hydrogen bond regulation led to a transformation from centrosymmetric to noncentrosymmetric structure, resulting in nonlinear optical activity.
