Experimental Investigation and Numerical Verification on Diffusion of Permeable Polymers in Sandy Soils with Considering Grouting Parameters

Yuke Wang et al.

Summary: The diffusion range of permeable polymer in sandy soil layer was studied by establishing a spatial coordinate system. The effects of grouting pressure, grouting time, sand moisture content, and sand porosity on the diffusion of permeable polymer in sand were studied. The effects of grouting pressure, grouting time, and sand layer porosity on permeable polymer diffusion and the effect of permeable polymer on soil displacement during diffusion were studied using COMSOL numerical analysis software.

Experimental Study on Flow Water Diffusion of Cement-Sodium Silicate Grouting in Rough Fracture Model

Zengguang Xu et al.

Summary: Grouting is a common method used to seal and reinforce fractures in underground construction. The effects of aperture width, initial water flow velocity, grout pressure, and gel time on slurry diffusion and sealing were investigated using orthogonal tests. The results showed different modes of slurry diffusion and identified the factors that most strongly influenced the slurry sealing efficiency. The study provides guidance for grouting sealing in practical engineering applications.

Investigation and Calculation Method for the Mechanical Properties of Filament Wound Profiles for Deformed Shield Tunnel Reinforcement

Lei Zhang et al.

Summary: A new type of structural material, called filament wound profiles (FWPs), has been used in the reinforcement of deformed shield tunnels. In this study, the mechanical behavior of FWPs was investigated through compression and bending tests, and a method for calculating their bearing capacity and stiffness was proposed. The results showed that this calculation method can be applied to practical projects.

Study on Mechanical Properties of Permeable Polymer Treated Loess

Weifan Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, the mechanical properties and durability of solidified loess using a self-designed grouting system and permeable polymers were investigated. The results showed that polymer grouting significantly increased the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of the solidified loess, making it more durable than cement mixing soil. The gel formed by the reaction of the polymer with water enhanced the bond between soil particles, improving the density and stability of the loess.

Impermeability and interfacial bonding strength of TiO2-graphene modified epoxy resin coated OPC concrete

Si-Yao Guo et al.

Summary: The study showed that TiO2-graphene could be evenly dispersed in the epoxy resin matrix without reducing interfacial bonding strengths. Among the different dosages, 0.5% exhibited the best coating performance, significantly improving the impermeability of concrete to water and chloride penetration.

Experimental investigation on the monotonic, cyclic and post cyclic interfacial behavior of non-water reacted polymer and concrete

Yuke Wang et al.

Summary: The interface characteristics between polymer and cement concrete in geotechnical engineering are crucial for safety performance. Through a series of tests, it was found that increasing vertical stress leads to higher peak shear stress at the interface, while increasing shear rate decreases it slightly. The shear strength and shear modulus increase with vertical stress, but decrease slightly with higher shear rates.
