TOR and SnRK1 fine tune SPEECHLESS transcription and protein stability to optimize stomatal development in response to exogenously supplied sugar

Chao Han et al.

Summary: This study reveals the crucial roles of SnRK1 and TOR in regulating stomatal development under different sugar availability. SnRK1 promotes stomatal development by stabilizing SPCH under low sucrose conditions, while high accumulation of Tre6P inhibits SnRK1 activity, leading to degradation of SPCH and inhibition of stomatal development under high sucrose conditions.

Management of plant central metabolism by SnRK1 protein kinases

Bruno Peixoto et al.

Summary: SUCROSE NON-FERMENTING1 (SNF1)-RELATED KINASE 1 (SnRK1) is an important protein kinase in plant stress responses and metabolic homeostasis. It plays a key role in reconfiguring metabolism and gene expression to enhance stress tolerance and maintain sucrose levels.

The protein phosphatase 2C clade A TaPP2CA interact with calcium-dependent protein kinases, TaCDPK5/TaCDPK9-1, that phosphorylate TabZIP60 transcription factor from wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Lina Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, we identified two calcium-dependent protein kinase genes, TaCDPK5/TaCDPK9-1, and revealed their interaction and phosphorylation regulation with TabZIP60 protein in wheat during salt stress. These findings suggest that the phosphorylation status of TabZIP60 may play a crucial role in wheat response to salt stress.

Genome-wide Identification, Expression Profiling and Promoter Analysis of Trehalose-6-Phosphate Phosphatase Gene Family in Rice

Md Mustafizur Rahman et al.

Summary: Through comprehensive bioinformatics analysis, 12 OsTPPs were identified in rice, their distribution and structural stability in the genome were revealed. By studying the biological functions of cis-regulatory elements, it was found that OsTPPs may play a crucial role in stress response.

Regulation of shoot branching in arabidopsis by trehalose 6-phosphate

Franziska Fichtner et al.

Summary: Tre6P is expressed in axillary buds and vasculature in Arabidopsis, and it plays a role in regulating shoot branching by connecting with systemic regulation via FT. Direct genetic evidence shows that Tre6P has a local role in regulating axillary bud outgrowth within the buds themselves.
