Satellite prediction of forest flowering phenology

Dan J. Dixon et al.

Summary: This study introduces a method that combines drone and satellite images to produce landscape-scale maps of flowering dynamics in eucalypt forests. The model accurately predicts pixel-level flowering proportion throughout the season, providing valuable insights for monitoring forest ecosystem condition and researching drivers of eucalypt forest phenology.

Time-lag effects of NDVI responses to climate change in the Yamzhog Yumco Basin, South Tibet

Meng Zhe et al.

Summary: The study focused on vegetation dynamics and their response to climate change in the Yamzhog Yumco Basin from 2000 to 2018. The results showed an increasing trend in NDVI, with temperature being the primary driving factor. Future grassland conservation projects need to consider the time-lag effects on vegetation dynamics.

A Novel Index to Detect Vegetation in Urban Areas Using UAV-Based Multispectral Images

Geunsang Lee et al.

Summary: This study utilized UAVs equipped with high-resolution multispectral cameras to analyze urban vegetation, revealing issues with existing vegetation indices showing similar or slightly higher values for long-run steel roofing, waterproof coated roofs, and urethane-coated areas compared to grass. By testing various equations combining multispectral bands, it was found that the squared Red-Blue NDVI index produced the best results when analyzing vegetation reflecting urban land cover.

Fluorescence, reflectance, and physiological response to water stress in Gmelina arborea Roxb seedlings

Juan Carlos Valverde et al.

Summary: The study analyzed fluorescence, reflectance, and physiological responses to water stress in Gmelina arborea Roxb seedlings over a 31-day period. Water stress led to decreased biomass, reduced photosynthesis, and affected leaf coverage, stomatal conductance, leaf turgor, and chlorophyll content. Fluorescence and reflectance patterns also showed differences between stressed and control plants.
