Dietary additive octyl and decyl glycerate modulates metabolism and inflammation under different dietary patterns with the contribution of the gut microbiota

Summary: This study found that octyl and decyl glycerate (ODG), a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT), can alter the composition of the gut microbiota and have an impact on glucose and lipid metabolism and inflammation. The effects of ODG on lipid metabolism differ under different dietary patterns. Moreover, ODG supplementation also leads to changes in the gut microbiota, which may contribute to the alterations in metabolism and inflammation and may be influenced by dietary patterns.
