Hydroxypyridine/Pyridone Interconversions within Ruthenium Complexes and Their Application in the Catalytic Hydrogenation of CO2

Ramaraj Ayyappan et al.

Summary: The reaction between 6-DiPPon and [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 resulted in the formation of two complexes with different ligands, the ratio of which can be controlled by the solvent used. In the presence of AgOTf and Na[BArF24], two other complexes were formed. The properties and reaction mechanisms of these new ligands and complexes have important implications for catalyst activity and applications.

Ruthenium(II) Complexes of an Imidazole Carboxamido Ligand for Base-Free Transfer Hydrogenation in Air

Richard J. Citta et al.

Summary: Two half-sandwich ruthenium(II) complexes of an imidazole-2-carboxamido ligand were synthesized and characterized, serving as precatalysts for base-free transfer hydrogenation under aerobic conditions. A substrate scope study with ketones and aldehydes was conducted, along with a preliminary investigation of the catalytic mechanism. These complexes are rare examples of transfer hydrogenation catalysts that do not require an inert atmosphere and an exogenous base.

119Sn NMR spectral data of organotin(IV) complexes - A review

Unjum Sair et al.

Summary: Organotin chemistry is a highly researched field in organometallic chemistry, with Sn-119 NMR being a valuable technique for characterizing the coordination environment around tin center. The study of tetra, penta, and hexa coordinated organotin complexes using this technique has contributed greatly to the growth of organotin chemistry.

Enantioselective direct, base-free hydrogenation of ketones by a manganese amido complex of a homochiral, unsymmetrical P-N-P′ ligand

Chris S. G. Seo et al.

Summary: The use of manganese in homogeneous hydrogenation catalysis has shown great promise in terms of enantioselectivity, activity, and tolerance for base-sensitive substrates. NMR structural analysis and computational analysis have provided insights into the reaction mechanism and the influence of reactant structure on product enantiomeric selectivity.
