Talking about chronic pain: Misalignment in discussions of the body, mind and social aspects in pain clinic consultations

Summary: In Western societies, the perspective of mind-body dualism is no longer sustainable in healthcare contexts, leading to the rise of the biopsychosocial model. This paper examines the potential misalignment caused by the conflicting perspectives on body and illness in interactions between chronic pain patients and their doctors.
