Efficient Emission in the Telecom Range from Quantum Dots Embedded in Photonic Structures Fabricated by Focused Ion Beam Milling

M. Jaworski et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the development and optimization of photonic structures using (In,Ga)As/GaAs quantum dots. Through low-temperature micro-photoluminescence testing, the influence of different ion sources and parameters on the emission intensity was investigated. It was found that the xenon plasma focused ion beam technique is the optimized method, allowing for bright photoluminescence from single quantum dots.

InP-based single-photon sources operating at telecom C-band with increased extraction efficiency

A. Musial et al.

Summary: In this work, a triggered single-photon source operating at the telecom C-band with the highest reported photon extraction efficiency has been demonstrated. The source consists of single InAs quantum dots grown by molecular beam epitaxy, suitable for quantum communication applications. The engineering of extraction efficiency is achieved through specific structures, resulting in high photon extraction efficiency at the telecom C-band.
