Highly stable TiOF monolayer as anode material for the applications of Li/ Na-ion batteries

Ya Wu et al.

Summary: Through density functional theory, 2D TiOF as an anode for ion batteries was investigated. TiOF was found to be thermodynamically stable at 1000K with high specific capacities and theoretical energy densities for Li and Na, low diffusion barriers for adsorbed Li/Na ions, and preserved metallic features and structural integrity during ion intercalation process, making it an appealing choice for rechargeable Li/Na-ion batteries.

Recent developments on anode materials for magnesium-ion batteries: a review

Qi Guo et al.

Summary: In recent years, research interest in the development of next-generation battery systems, particularly Magnesium-ion batteries (MIBs) as an alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), has been increasing. However, serious issues such as the formation of an irreversible passivation layer on the Mg anode surface need to be resolved in the development of rechargeable MIBs. Strategies including exploration of new electrolytes and alternative anode materials, as well as structural design, dimension reduction, and introduction of the second phase, have been employed to design high-performance MIB anodes.

Graphene-like BSi as a promising anode material for Li- and Mg-ion batteries: A first principle study

Chu Xiao et al.

Summary: Monolayer BSi has been predicted as a phonon-mediated superconductor and has been studied for its potential as an anode material for rechargeable batteries. The theoretical capacities of monolayer BSi towards Li and Mg storage are 1374 mAhg(-1) and 2749 mAhg(-1) respectively, with controllable volume change and high ion diffusion rate ensuring high performance in Li and Mg-ion batteries. These results provide insight into the energy-storage mechanisms and potential applications of 2D BSi materials.
