Influence of PRKCE non-synonymous variants on protein dynamics and functionality

Khushbukhat Khan et al.

Summary: PKCε nsSNPs are concentrated in the hinge region and C-terminal tail, with most pathogenic variants mapped to the kinase domain. Regulatory domain variants influence the interaction of PKCε with molecular players, while kinase domain variants are predicted to impact its phosphorylation pattern and protein-protein interactions.

Predicting 3D Structure, Cross Talks, and Prognostic Significance of KLF9 in Cervical Cancer

Sadia Safi et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify new blood-based biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of cervical cancer. The research also determined the 3D structure of KLF9 to better understand its function. The study revealed a possible relation between the co-expressions of TPD52, KLF9, miR-223, and PKC epsilon and the outcome of cervical cancer.

Determining KLF14 tertiary structure and diagnostic significance in brain cancer progression

Kainat Zahra et al.

Summary: Expression analysis of new protein targets is important for the early detection and diagnosis of brain tumor progression. This study found that TPD52 and PKC epsilon were upregulated in brain cancer, while KLF14 and miR-124 were downregulated. These genes also showed differential expression in blood samples from patients with SOL, suggesting their potential diagnostic and prognostic value for gliomas.

PRKCE non-coding variants influence on transcription as well as translation of its gene

Khushbukhat Khan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the potential impact of PRKCE 5' and 3' untranslated region (UTR) variants on its transcription and translation through bioinformatics approaches. The study identifies variants with regulatory functions and reveals a PKC epsilon-regulated feedback loop mechanism. These findings provide a foundation for further research on the role of these variants in diseases and their potential use as genetic markers for disease diagnosis.

Plasma Hsp90 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis and relation to lung and skin involvement: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Hana Storkanova et al.

Summary: According to the study, plasma levels of Hsp90 are increased in patients with systemic sclerosis compared to healthy controls, and are associated with increased inflammatory activity, worsened lung function, and extent of skin involvement in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. In patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease treated with cyclophosphamide, baseline Hsp90 levels can predict changes in DLCO over 12 months of therapy.
