Effectiveness of continuous glucose monitoring in maintaining glycaemic control among people with type 1 diabetes mellitus: a systematic review of randomised controlled trials and meta-analysis

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) compared to self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) in maintaining glycemic control among individuals with type 1 diabetes. The results showed that CGM was more effective than SMBG in improving glycemic control, especially for individuals with uncontrolled glycemia. However, CGM had no significant impact on severe hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis.
