Complex dynamics of a heterogeneous network of Hindmarsh-Rose neurons

Zeric Tabekoueng Njitacke et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the collective behavior of two HR neurons and a network of HR neurons. By connecting a traditional 3D HR neuron and a memristive 2D HR neuron through a gap junction, the collective behavior of the coupled neurons is obtained. Numerical simulations reveal that the coupled neurons exhibit various behaviors, including periodic, quasi-periodic, and chaotic bursting or spiking, by adjusting the control parameter. The network topology affects the spatiotemporal patterns, with cluster states observed in non-homogenous ring and star structures.

Estimate physical reliability in Hindmarsh-Rose neuron

Ying Xie et al.

Summary: In this paper, a reliable neural circuit is used to accurately analyze the changes in field energy and investigate the energy dependence on firing activities by manipulating the excitability and applied currents. The distinct energy function for the original HR neuron is obtained using Helmholtz theorem, and an equivalent two-variable HR model is proposed. Stochastic resonance is induced by applying additive noise, allowing for the examination of the intrinsic energy function and confirmation of energy shunting in the circuit.

Exponential synchronization of memristive Hindmarsh-Rose neural networks

Yuncheng You

Summary: A new model of neural networks based on the memristive Hindmarsh-Rose equations is proposed. It is proven that exponential synchronization at a uniform convergence rate occurs when the coupling strengths satisfy the threshold conditions quantitatively expressed by the parameters, through sharp and uniform grouping estimates and by leverage of integral and interpolation inequalities tackling the linear network coupling against the memristive nonlinearity.

A new autonomous memristive megastable oscillator and its Hamiltonian-energy-dependent megastability

Ronghao Li et al.

Summary: This paper presents a three-dimensional autonomous memristive chaotic system with multiple coexisting attractors and explores the megastability phenomenon. Through calculating the average Hamiltonian energy and analyzing the energy transition, the occurrence mechanisms of megastability and extreme events are explained. The numerical results are validated through PSIM simulations and FPGA circuits.

The dynamics of a memristor-based Rulkov neuron with fractional-order difference

Yan-Mei Lu et al.

Summary: This study constructed a new fractional-order discrete memristor model with significant nonlinearity for simulating the dynamical behaviors of neurons under electromagnetic radiation. The characteristics of integer-order and fractional-order systems were analyzed, showing that the fractional-order system has richer dynamics.

Effect of propagation noise on the network dynamics of a flux coupled conductance-based neuron model

Sathiyadevi Kanagaraj et al.

Summary: In this paper, the dynamical behavior of a flux coupled conductance-based neuron under external periodic stimulus is investigated. The transitions between periodic and chaotic attractors, as well as the antimonotonicity phenomenon, are examined through bifurcation analysis and Lyapunov exponents. The collective dynamical behaviors of the neuron network under the influence of propagation noise are also explored, revealing transitions from desynchronized to synchronized states in the presence of noise, and the potential aid of noise in synchronization even at weak coupling strength.

Infinitely coexisting chaotic and nonchaotic attractors in a RLC shunted Josephson Junction with an AC bias current

Karthikeyan Rajagopal et al.

Summary: In this paper, we explore the dynamical behavior of a resistive-capacitive-inductance (RLC) shunted Josephson Junction by replacing the direct current with alternating bias current. Our study reveals that the periodic bias current exhibits chaotic behavior, while the quasiperiodic bias current shows chaotic as well as strange nonchaotic attractors. We validate the coexistence of multiple attractors in the parameter space by varying the initial conditions. The existence of such strange nonchaotic attractors is confirmed using various techniques.

Sathiyadevi Kanagaraj et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the behavior of spiral waves in a fractional-order resistor-capacitor shunted Josephson junction chaotic oscillator, and observes the dynamics of periodic and chaotic attractors in relation to the fractional order. The existence of spiral waves under different system parameters is also studied. Furthermore, the impact of noise on spiral waves is analyzed.
