General practitioners' views of advance care planning: a questionnaire-based study

Summary: The study found that GPs have positive attitudes towards ACPs, but there is inadequate understanding of ACPs, and they face challenges such as defining the right moment to initiate EOL discussions, patients' unawareness of ACPs, and lack of time during consultations. In order to improve implementation, workshops and courses should be developed to increase GPs' knowledge and confidence, and the healthcare system should be adapted to support GPs in facilitating these important discussions.

Evaluation of general practice pharmacists' role by key stakeholders in England and Australia

Summary: This study investigates expectations and perceptions about general practice pharmacists' roles in England and Australia through interviews with key stakeholders. Main themes extracted include initial expectations and reservations, barriers and facilitators, working collaboration, GPPs' skillset, views on key performance indicators, patients' feedback, and stakeholders' views on the future of GPPs. Despite concerns, participants believed that overcoming barriers could make GPPs ideal professionals to bridge gaps in general practice. Recommendations on funding, role description, prescribing qualification, training pathways, and KPIs were made based on comparative data for implementation in both countries.
