Prevalence of common mental disorders in adult Syrian refugees resettled in high income Western countries: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: The Syrian war has caused tremendous social upheaval and a continuing humanitarian crisis, resulting in millions of civilians fleeing their homeland, with many seeking refugee status in Western countries. This systematic review and meta-analysis reveal that adult Syrian refugees resettled in high-income Western countries have significantly higher prevalence rates of common mental disorders (posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety disorder) compared to the general population.

Unravelling 'low-resource settings': a systematic scoping review with qualitative content analysis
