Novel homozygous ADAMTS17 missense variant in Weill- Marchesani syndrome

Na Miao et al.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the phenotype and genotype of Weill-Marchesani syndrome (WMS) in a Chinese family and review related literature. Through medical history, comprehensive ophthalmic examinations, systemic evaluation, and genetic analysis, a homozygous missense mutation in ADAMTS17 gene was identified in three affected siblings, indicating an autosomal recessive inherited manner of WMS. This study expands the knowledge of WMS-associated mutations and deepens understanding of the pathology associated with ADAMTS17 variants.

LINC00922 promotes deterioration of gastric cancer

Hua Ge et al.

Summary: In this study, the role of LINC00922 in gastric cancer was investigated using bioinformatics approaches and in vitro experiments. The results showed that LINC00922 was overexpressed in gastric cancer tissues and was associated with poor prognosis. Analysis of related genes revealed that LINC00922 may be involved in gastric cancer-related biological processes such as cell adhesion, migration, and TGF-I3 signaling. In vitro experiments demonstrated that LINC00922 overexpression significantly promoted cell proliferation and invasion. These findings suggest that LINC00922 may play an important role in the development and progression of gastric cancer and could potentially serve as a prognostic indicator.

The LINC00922 aggravates ovarian cancer progression via sponging miR-361-3p

Liping Wang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that LINC00922 competitively binds with miR-361-3p to promote CLDN1 expression and activate Wnt/beta-catenin signaling in the progression of ovarian cancer, providing a promising therapeutic target for the disease.

Sugar-Free Milk Chocolate as a Carrier of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Probiotics: A Potential Functional Food for the Diabetic Population

Andrea R. Gomez-Fernandez et al.

Summary: Chocolate reformulated with alternative sugar sweeteners, probiotics, and omega-3 PUFAs showed improved physicochemical properties and consumer acceptability. The addition of probiotic strains and omega-3 PUFAs increased the health benefits of the chocolate, with good hardness and fracturability. Consumer acceptance was higher for the reformulated chocolates, indicating potential for market success.
