How to Obtain the Correct Rabi Splitting in a Subwavelength Interacting System

Rongguang Du et al.

Summary: We have successfully extracted the individual decay channels of a coupled plasmon-exciton system using correlated single-particle absorption and scattering measurements. The plasmon channel exhibits clear Rabi splitting, while the exciton channel does not. The discrepancy in the absorption and scattering spectra is mainly attributed to the distinct contributions of the plasmon and exciton channels in the absorption and scattering process. These findings offer insights into plasmon-exciton interaction in an open cavity and have implications for the design of plexcitonic devices in ultrafast nonlinear nanophotonics.

Boosting anapole-exciton strong coupling in all-dielectric heterostructures

Jingyu Wang et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates a strong coupling between bulk WS2 excitons and anapole modes in the WS2-Si nanodisk heterostructure array. By introducing anapole modes to confine light into subwavelength volumes and achieve large spatial overlapping between excitons and strong optical fields, efficient interaction between light and matter is achieved at the nanoscale.

Cylindrical vector beams reveal radiationless anapole condition in a resonant state

Yudong Lu et al.

Summary: We report on the excitation of optical radiationless anapole hidden in a resonant state of a Si nanoparticle using a tightly focused radially polarized beam. The coexistence of magnetic resonant state and anapole condition at the same wavelength enables the triggering of resonant state by a tightly focused azimuthally polarized beam. This mechanism provides new degrees of freedom for tailoring light-matter interaction.

Boosting Strong Coupling in a Hybrid WSe2 Monolayer-Anapole-Plasmon System

Khalil As'ham et al.

Summary: Strong coupling between an anapole mode in a slotted silicon nanodisk and an exciton in a WSe2 monolayer has been observed, leading to the creation of anapole-exciton polaritons. Additionally, strong anapole-plasmon and anapole-plasmon-exciton coupling have been demonstrated in Si-Ag and Si-Ag-WSe2 heterostructures, respectively. The observed polaritonic hybrid states have a large Rabi splitting (159 meV) and high localized field enhancement (157 times increase) in the near field and at a normal incident angle, indicating a significant progress towards the development of exciton-polariton nanodevices.
