Novel Neutralizing Epitope of PEDV S1 Protein Identified by IgM Monoclonal Antibody

Techit Thavorasak et al.

Summary: In this study, a monoclonal antibody (mAbA3) that neutralizes PEDV infectivity was successfully generated. The identified neutralizing epitope locates in the S1A subdomain of PEDV spike protein. This novel epitope could potentially be used as a component of a next-generation PEDV vaccine, along with other known protective epitopes.

Enhancing epitope of PEDV spike protein

Techit Thavorasak et al.

Summary: Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is a highly contagious pathogen that causes a severe enteric disease in pigs. Understanding the enhancing epitope of PEDV protein can contribute to the development of a safer and more effective vaccine.

Isolation and oral immunogenicity assessment of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus NH-TA2020 strain: One of the predominant strains circulating in China from 2017 to 2021

Xiaowen Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the epidemiology of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) in China from 2017 to 2021. The results showed that approximately 52.15% of the pig farms and 63.95% of the samples were positive for PEDV. The predominant branch circulating in China during this period was the G2c subgroup, while the newly-defined G2d subgroup was identified in three provinces. Oral administration of the NH-TA2020 strain enhanced maternal IgA and lactogenic immune responses, providing protection against the emerging G2d PEDV strains in neonates.
