Sacrococcygeal teratomas: midline reconstruction improves cosmesis without compromising outcomes

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the cosmetic outcomes of midline reconstruction in patients undergoing surgery for sacrococcygeal teratoma. The study included 32 patients, of which 24 underwent posterior approach with midline reconstruction. The results showed that midline reconstruction produced a cosmetically favorable outcome.

Vertical wound closure following sacrococcygeal teratoma excision: an approachable aesthetic solution

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the cosmetic outcome of vertical wound closure after excision of sacrococcygeal teratoma. The study included 22 cases and found that the vertical scar could be perfectly or partially hidden within the natal cleft, even for large and irregular tumors, with minimal disturbance to the normal anal location within the perineum.
