The advanced lung cancer inflammation index is the optimal inflammatory biomarker of overall survival in patients with lung cancer

Mengmeng Song et al.

Summary: This study found that the ALI is the best indicator for predicting OS in lung cancer patients, regardless of gender, smoking status, or age less than 65 years. However, in non-small cell lung cancer and patients aged 65 years or older, the modified Glasgow prognostic score is superior to other indicators; in small cell lung cancer patients, the glucose-to-lymphocyte ratio has better prognostic ability.

High Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index is an Adverse Prognostic Factor for Patients With Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma

Gerd Jomrich et al.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the clinical role of the systemic immune-inflammation index in patients with resectable adenocarcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction treated with or without neoadjuvant therapy. The findings showed that elevated SII is an independent adverse prognostic factor in patients with resectable gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas with and without neoadjuvant treatment.

Diagnostic Immunostaining and Tumor Markers Predict the Prognosis of Esophageal Neuroendocrine Cell Carcinoma Patients

Makoto Sohda et al.

Summary: Positivity for all expressions of Syn, CgA, and CD56, and a high NSE value were identified as significantly worse prognostic factors for ENEC patients compared to other expression patterns. Surgery and chemoradiotherapy were found to be more effective treatments for patients who did not have positive expressions of these markers. High NSE levels were determined to be an independent poor prognostic factor for esophageal endocrine cell carcinoma.
