On the optimal design of staved water-lubricated bearings driven by tribo-dynamic mechanism

Dongxing Tang et al.

Summary: In this study, a structural optimization method driven by tribo-dynamic mechanism is proposed for staved water-lubricated bearings. A tribo-dynamic model considering mass conservation cavitation is established and verified through comparison with experimental and numerical results. Numerical simulations identify the optimal stave structure for a specific working operation under heavy load condition, and the influences of key parameters on the optimization results are analyzed. The effects of stave parameters on tribo-dynamic characteristics of SWLBs are also investigated.

On the tribo-dynamic behaviors during start-up of water lubricated bearing considering imperfect journal

Shouan Chen et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of imperfect journal on the tribo-dynamic behavior of water-lubricated bearings during start-up. The numerical model shows that the shape error of the journal can affect the performance of the bearing, but within a reasonable range, it can also improve the tribological performance.

Effects of wear and shaft-shape error defects on the tribo-dynamic response of water-lubricated bearings under propeller disturbance

Jianlin Cai et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of wear and shaft-shape error defects on the tribo-dynamic responses of water-lubricated bearings under nonlinear propeller disturbance. The results show that the nonlinear disturbance significantly affects the dynamic behavior of the bearings, and reasonable wear parameters can improve the lubrication performance.
