Nitrogen-doped carbon-ZnO heterojunction derived from ZIF-8: a photocatalytic antibacterial strategy for scaffold

Summary: In this study, a nitrogen-doped carbon-ZnO (NC-ZnO) heterojunction derived from metal organic frameworks was synthesized and introduced into a poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) scaffold to construct a photodynamic antibacterial platform. The results showed that the scaffold exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity and strong antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli.

Facile synthesis of ZnO/GdCoO3 nanocomposites, characterization and their photocatalytic activity under visible light illumination

Summary: Efficient synthesis of ZnO/GdCoO3 nanocomposites was achieved using Myristica fragrans leaf extracts (MFE) in a two-phase system with high-speed stirring. The nanocomposites showed a bandgap value of 1.99 eV and particle size in the range of 34-58 nm, exhibiting high efficiency in degrading dyes under visible light illumination. The synergetic effect of ZnO and GdCoO3 in the nanocomposite structure makes them an effective photocatalyst for dye degradation.

Cobalt doping on nickel ferrite nanocrystals enhances the micro-structural and magnetic properties: Shows a correlation between them

Summary: PVP capped nickel ferrite nanocrystals (NFN) and cobalt doped nickel ferrite nanocrystals (CNFN) were successfully prepared using thermal heat treatment method, followed by sintering at 700 degrees C. The synthesized nanocrystals were analyzed through XRD, TEM and SEM to study their structural, morphological and magnetic properties. The study showed increase in saturation magnetization and coercivity values with Co doping in NFN, indicating potential applications in memory devices, magnetic recording media and adsorption of toxic materials in water.

Synthesis and Characterization of Hetero-metallic Oxides-Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanocomposites for Photocatalytic Applications
