Susceptibility of chloride ion concentration, temperature, and surface roughness on pitting corrosion of CoCrFeNi medium-entropy alloy

Dongpeng Wang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the influence of chloride ion concentration, temperature, and surface roughness on the corrosion behavior of CoCrFeNi medium-entropy alloy in NaCl solution. Results showed that corrosion performance deteriorated with increases in chloride ion concentration, temperature, and surface roughness, especially for samples with higher surface roughness. The findings suggest that corrosion resistance is closely related to the wettability of samples and pitting damage is more sensitive to surface roughness.
