Physical analysis and statistical investigation of tensile and fatigue behaviors of glass fiber-reinforced polyester via novel fibers arrangement

Mahmoud Yousry Mahmoud Zaghloul et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of fiber arrangement on the mechanical characteristics of glass fiber-reinforced polymeric materials. Experimental results show that surface reinforced arranged (SRA) samples have significantly longer lifespan after bending fatigue compared to unreinforced (UR) and bulk reinforced arranged (BRA) samples, indicating the potential of SRA design for cost reduction and quality improvement.

Recent progress in Epoxy Nanocomposites: Corrosion, structural, flame retardancy and applications - A comprehensive review

Moustafa Mahmoud Yousry Zaghloul et al.

Summary: In recent years, epoxy resins have been widely recognized for their advantages in various fields. Incorporating nanomaterials into epoxy matrices has been proven to be an effective way to enhance mechanical properties. However, the inherent weaknesses of epoxy, such as brittleness and poor electrical and thermal properties, limit its utilization in advanced applications. Therefore, nanofiller materials such as graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, MXene, and hexagonal boron nitride offer extensive opportunities for reinforcement of epoxy.

Influence of Counter-Face Grit Size and Lubricant on the Abrasive Wear Behaviour of Thermoplastic Polymers Reinforced with Glass Fibres

Moustafa Mahmoud Yousry Zaghloul et al.

Summary: Thermoplastic composite materials are widely used in various industries due to their high strength to weight ratio, specific modulus, melt processability, corrosion resistance, low friction, and noise damping properties. This study focuses on the tribological properties and mechanical performance of random short-fiber E-glass reinforced Polyamide 6 (PA6) composites. Injection molded samples with different fiber volume fractions were scanned using micro-CT. The wear behavior of PA6 and glass fiber reinforced PA6 composites was evaluated under abrasive wear conditions using a pin-on-disc test setup. The results showed that the wear resistance of PA6 composites was influenced by the fiber loading and abrasive grit size.
