Chengcheng Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a dual-stimuli responsive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor was developed for the detection and sterilization of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). The sensor utilized silver nanoclusters labeled hairpin DNA (H-Ag NCs) as the energy acceptor of ECL emission from CdS quantum dots (CdS QDs), generating resonance energy transfer (RET) and quenching ECL signal. The proposed method showed excellent performance in the detection of S. aureus in foods, with a linear range of 5-108 CFU/mL.

K-Doped Graphitic Carbon Nitride with Obvious Less Electrode Passivation for Highly Stable Electrochemiluminescence and Its Sensitive Sensing Analysis of MicroRNA

Linlei Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) excitation potential of potassium-doped graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was effectively reduced, resulting in improved ECL intensity and stability. The introduction of potassium element also increased water solubility and shortened preparation time. By utilizing the K-doped g-C3N4 as an emitter, a biosensor for microRNA-141 (miRNA-141) detection was constructed with the assistance of an innovative nicking enzyme-assisted strand displacement amplification (N-SDA) method. The biosensor showed excellent performance in ultrasensitive miRNA-141 detection.

Review of potential biomarkers of inflammation and kidney injury in diabetic kidney disease

Vuthi Khanijou et al.

Summary: Diabetic kidney disease is a growing concern, and there is a need to identify biomarkers that can accurately predict the risk of declining kidney function. Multiple serum and urine biomarkers of inflammation and kidney injury have shown significant association with the development and progression of diabetic kidney disease. Tumor necrosis factor receptor-1 and -2 appear to be promising markers for diabetic kidney disease, while kidney injury molecule-1, beta-2-microglobulin, and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin are potential candidates for markers of kidney injury.
