Pressure-induced enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature in La2O2Bi3AgS6

Summary: Charge density wave (CDW) instability is commonly found in superconductors, but its relationship with the pairing of electrons remains unclear. This study investigates a BiS2 superconductor and reveals the presence of CDW and superconducting transitions in the temperature-pressure phase diagram, suggesting a possible connection between CDW and electron pairing.

Pressure tuning of localization and superconductivity in LaOPbBiS3 and La2O2Bi3AgS6

Summary: The effect of pressure on the electrical transport properties of the four-layer-type bismuth chalcogenide semiconductors LaOPbBiS3 and La2O2Bi3AgS6 and the discovery of pressure-induced superconductivity are reported. The semiconductor-like behavior in both compounds gradually weakens with increasing pressure while the superconductivity develops. The results indicate that the enhancement of superconductivity is attributed to the disorder near the localization threshold in these materials.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of pressure on the superconducting properties of a Bi-based layered superconductor La2O2Bi3Ag0.6Sn0.4S6 through electrical resistance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The results showed that pressure induced bulk superconductivity at low pressure and structural symmetry lowering at high pressure, leading to higher superconducting transition temperatures.
