Social Network Structure Is Related to Functional Improvement From Home-Based Telerehabilitation After Stroke

Summary: The study found that the size and density of social networks were associated with improvement in motor function among rehabilitation patients. Social network density was related to arm motor gains, while network size was related to reduced depressive symptoms. Loneliness and mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic in older breast cancer survivors and noncancer controls

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, both cancer survivors and women without cancer reported changes in loneliness and mental health. However, both groups experienced increased loneliness from before to during the pandemic, which was associated with worsening mental health. Screening for loneliness during medical care interactions will be important for identifying older women at risk for adverse mental health effects of the pandemic.
