The most predictive factors of PEG were perceived stress, agreeableness, and openness to experience. However, further research is needed to understand why and how these changes occur.

A systematic review of resilient performance in defence and security settings

The examination of mental toughness, sleep, mood and injury rates in an Arctic ultra-marathon

This study identified injury patterns, mood states, and sleep patterns in athletes during a 120 mile Arctic ultra-marathon. Success in such events requires significant psychological and physiological preparation to minimize the effects of sleep deprivation and injuries.

The Emergence of Resilience: Recovery Trajectories in Sleep Functioning After a Major Stressor
