Antisolvents Treatment of Cs$_{0.15}$FA$_{0.85}$PbI$_{3}$ Boosting Efficiency for Perovskite Solar Cells

Tianjie Fan et al.

Summary: One-step spin-coating solution deposition is an excellent processing method in perovskite solar cells, and antisolvent treatment can significantly enhance the power conversion efficiency of PSCs by improving the quality of perovskite crystals. This study investigates the evolution of perovskite thin films by altering antisolvents during the solution deposition process, ultimately showing that a smooth and compact perovskite layer obtained through antisolvent treatment is beneficial for enhancing device performance. A high-efficiency inverted planar heterojunction solar cell with a PCE exceeding 15% is achieved using a Cs$_{0.85}$PbI$_{3}$ thin film fabricated via antisolvent treatment.

Temperature-Dependent Ionic Conductivity and Properties of Iodine-Related Defects in Metal Halide Perovskites

Sandhya Tammireddy et al.

Summary: The study investigates the formation and migration of ionic defects in metal halide perovskites, utilizing impedance spectroscopy to determine ion formation enthalpies and formation entropy changes in different thin films. By focusing on the iodide vacancy as the dominant defect, comparisons of entropy and enthalpy changes were made across various perovskite compositions. This approach is applicable to ionic conductors in general.

Transient Analysis of Ion-Migration Current for Degradation Diagnostics of Perovskite Solar Cells

Takeshi Tayagaki et al.

Summary: This article presents a diagnostic method for degradation in perovskite solar cells using transient ion-migration current measurements. The study found that a slow ion-migration current increased after illumination and decreased under dark conditions, indicating that the reversible change induced by light is partly caused by slow mobile ions. Additionally, a fast ion migration current was modified after illumination and dark cycles and increased in the dark. Moreover, an increase in the mobile ion concentration can cause irreversible power degradation and affects power extraction using maximum-power-point tracking. Our findings provide a simple and nondestructive diagnostic method for ion-migration-induced degradation in perovskite solar cells.

Toward Stable Monolithic Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Photovoltaics: A Six-Month Outdoor Performance Study in a Hot and Humid Climate

Michele De Bastiani et al.

Summary: Perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells have shown promising outdoor performance in field-testing in Saudi Arabia. While the open circuit voltage remains stable, the fill factor degrades due to reversible ion migration in perovskite and irreversible corrosion of the silver top contact, which forms silver iodide. These findings provide guidance for the development of more stable perovskite/silicon tandems.

Defect compensation in formamidinium-caesium perovskites for highly efficient solar mini-modules with improved photostability

Yehao Deng et al.

Summary: The addition of excessive AX in formamidinium-caesium mixed-cation perovskites improves their photostability by compensating iodide vacancies and suppressing ion migration and defects generation during long-term illumination. This approach impedes the generation of hole traps and phase segregation, ultimately enhancing the stability and efficiency of the perovskite mini-modules.
