Cylindrical magnetoelectric FeGa/PZT composite for lightning current sensing applications

Caijiang Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, a magnetoelectric composite consisting of a magnetostrictive FeGa cylinder and a piezoelectric PZT circular tube was fabricated for lightning current sensing applications. The composite showed a time-domain output voltage that changed with the current, with damping oscillation observed at its resonant frequency. The arrangement of the FeGa cylinder and current-carrying wire in an orthogonal way was found to result in a significant magnetoelectric response. The composite exhibited a sensitivity of 1.36 mV A(-1), a linear response (R(2) = 0.9993), and a small return error (0.12 V) for lightning currents in the range of 500 A-9 kA.

Evaluation of the Effect of Stray Current Collection System in DC-Electrified Railway System

Wei Liu et al.

Summary: The stray current collection system, including SCCN and SCDD, is crucial in controlling and evaluating stray current in DC traction power supply systems. The efficiency of collecting stray current is mainly affected by the resistance of SCCN and the SCCN to earth resistance, while the use of SCDD can deteriorate this efficiency. Testing in Chengdu Metro Line 1 helps evaluate the performance of the stray current collection system.

Evaluation and Analysis Model of Stray Current in the Metro Depot

Sheng Lin et al.

Summary: This article proposes an evaluation model for stray current in the metro depot, analyzing the distribution of stray current and verifying the effectiveness of the model through comparisons with field data. The results indicate that trains operating in traction on the mainline far from the depot are more likely to exacerbate the stray current within the depot.
