Photoinduced electron transfer across the polymer-capped CsPbBr3 interface in a polar medium

Anthony Kipkorir et al.

Summary: In-situ polymer capping with polymethyl acrylate improves the colloidal stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals, making them more suitable for photocatalysis in polar medium. The electron transfer properties of PMA-capped CsPbBr3 nanocrystals were studied using viologen molecules as electron acceptors. The binding affinity of viologen molecules with PMA-capped CsPbBr3 was significantly higher than that with oleic acid/oleylamine-capped ones. The results also show that the alkyl chain length of the viologen molecule affects charge separation efficiency and net electron transfer quantum yield.

A Multifunctional Halide-Equivalent Anion Enabling Efficient CsPb(Br/I)3 Nanocrystals Pure-Red Light-Emitting Diodes with External Quantum Efficiency Exceeding 23%

Jibin Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a multifunctional additive of benzenesulfonate (BS-) is introduced into CsPb(Br/I)(3) nanocrystals to improve the efficiency and stability of pure-red perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs). The BS- can passivate defects on the surface of nanocrystals and increase the formation energy of halide vacancies. The electron-withdrawing property of sulfonate group can reduce the self-doping effect and alter the behavior of CsPb(Br/I)(3) nanocrystals. With this strategy, the pure-red PeLEDs achieve a synergistic boost in device performance with CIE coordinates of (0.70, 0.30) and a champion external quantum efficiency of 23.5%, approaching the Rec. 2020 red primary color.

Ligand-Induced Cation-π Interactions Enable High-Efficiency, Bright, and Spectrally Stable Rec. 2020 Pure-Red Perovskite Light-Emitting Diodes

Jibin Zhang et al.

Summary: A high-performance Rec. 2020 pure-red perovskite light-emitting diode (PeLED) is achieved by using CsPb(Br/I)(3) perovskite nanocrystals capped with aromatic amino acid ligands, which greatly enhance the brightness and spectral stability of the device. The strong cation-pi interactions between the perovskite units and the ligand molecules improve the surface defects and binding affinity, while the small-size aromatic ligands ensure superior charge-transport properties. The resulting PeLED exhibits an external quantum efficiency of 22.8%, a maximum luminance of 12,910 cd m(-2), and outstanding spectral stability.

Tailoring Charge Separation at Meticulously Engineered Conjugated Polymer/Perovskite Quantum Dot Interface for Photocatalyzing Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization

Shuang Liang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the efficient charge separation at the interface between metal halide perovskite quantum dots and conjugated polymers, which can be used as stable photocatalysts for photoinduced atom transfer radical polymerization. The use of CP-ligated perovskite quantum dots and amphiphilic starlike block copolymer nanoreactors allows for the production of stable and controllable nanomaterials with excellent structural stabilities and charge separation characteristics. These materials have potential applications in photodetectors, sensors, and LEDs, offering improved stabilities and tunable electronic band alignments.

Monodisperse Long-Chain Sulfobetaine-Capped CsPbBr3 Nanocrystals and Their Superfluorescent Assemblies

Franziska Krieg et al.

Summary: Ligand-capped nanocrystals of lead halide perovskites, particularly CsPbX3 NCs, exhibit large absorption cross section and efficient photoluminescence, making them attractive for applications in light-emitting devices and quantum optics. Size-selective precipitation of CsPbBr3 NCs coated with a long-chain sulfobetaine ligand yields monodisperse samples with tunable sizes, essential for studying their photophysics and practical applications. Additionally, zwitterion-capped NCs readily form long-range ordered superlattices with larger domain sizes and lower mosaicity, displaying superfluorescence at cryogenic temperatures.
