Wavelength-Tunable Multispectral Photodetector With Both Ultraviolet and Near-Infrared Narrowband Detection Capability

Li Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a tunable narrowband photodetector was fabricated, which exhibited tunable narrowband sensitivity not only in ultraviolet but also in near-infrared region. This was achieved through the controlled charge collection narrowing mechanism. By adjusting the bias, the negative and positive response peaks of the device could be readily tuned, and the full-width at half-maximum was very small. The opposite polarity of the device responses in ultraviolet-visible and near-infrared regions suggests the potential importance of this Si photodetector in future multiple band optoelectronic systems.
