Xiaotong Liu et al.

Summary: Li2ZnTi3O8 (LZTO) has been studied as a potential anode material for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, however, its high-rate capacity is limited due to slow Li-ion diffusion kinetics and side reactions at the electrode/electrolyte interface. This study investigates the use of Li3PO4 as a lithium ion conductor and modifier to improve the crystal structure and electrochemical properties of LZTO. The Li3PO4-coated LZTO electrode shows enhanced electrochemical performance with high capacity retention, low electrode polarization, and good cycling stability at high temperatures.

Summary: Li3PO4 (LPO) deposits were prepared using atmospheric plasma-spraying (APS) with varying sizes of sintered powders, which affected the microstructure and ion conductivity of the deposits. Smaller feedstock particle sizes resulted in decreased porosity of the deposits, and using particles smaller than 30 µm achieved a high room-temperature ionic conductivity of 4.65 x 10(-8) S.cm(-1) in the APS LPO deposit.

Reaction of Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 and LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 in Co-Sintered Composite Cathodes for Solid-State Batteries

Jean Philippe Beaupain et al.

Summary: The study investigates the reaction between the solid electrolyte Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)(3) (LATP) and the active material LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 (NCM622) in all-ceramic oxide batteries through cosintering, which reveals that elemental diffusion and decomposition reactions occur even at low sintering temperatures, hindering the densification of the composite and the formation of ion-conducting paths between individual particles. Based on the experimental results, a mechanism of the reactions in cosintered LATP and NCM622 oxide composite cathodes is suggested.
