The Random Normal Matrix Model: Insertion of a Point Charge

Yacin Ameur et al.

Summary: In this article, the microscopic properties of a two-dimensional Coulomb gas ensemble near a conical singularity arising from the insertion of a point charge in the bulk of the droplet are studied. The rotationally symmetric scaling limits and their universality are characterized in the determinantal case with an algebraic underlying potential. Applications include a central limit theorem for the logarithm of the characteristic polynomial of an n:th order random normal matrix near the singularity.

On the almost-circular symplectic induced Ginibre ensemble

Sung-Soo Byun et al.

Summary: This article investigates the symplectic-induced Ginibre process and discusses the bulk scaling limits of correlation functions in different scenarios. Near the real axis, the correlation functions take the form of Pfaffians with a new correlation kernel. Away from the real axis, the correlation functions become determinants with the same kernel as the bulk limit of almost-Hermitian random matrices. Additionally, precise large N asymptotics for several probabilities are obtained.

Edge Behavior of Higher Complex-Dimensional Determinantal Point Processes

L. D. Molag

Summary: Recently, Hedenmalm and Wennman proved that complex random normal matrix models exhibit a complementary error function behavior at the boundary (or edge) of the droplet as the matrix size increases, which is also observed in the eigenvalue density and correlation kernel. They further showed that this behavior is not limited to random normal matrices but extends to a specific elliptic class of determinantal point processes in C-d. These processes describe a system of repelling particles confined to the origin by an external field and exhibit the emergence of the Faddeeva plasma kernel on the hyperellipsoid bounding the region.

The elliptic Ginibre ensemble: A unifying approach to local and global statistics for higher dimensions

G. Akemann et al.

Summary: This article discusses the elliptic Ginibre ensemble of complex non-Hermitian random matrices, which allows for interpolation between the rotationally invariant Ginibre ensemble and the Gaussian unitary ensemble of Hermitian random matrices. It corresponds to a two-dimensional one-component Coulomb gas in a quadrupolar field at inverse temperature beta = 2. The main approach used is a saddle point analysis of a single contour integral representation of the corresponding kernel.

Almost-Hermitian random matrices and bandlimited point processes

Yacin Ameur et al.

Summary: We studied the distribution of eigenvalues of almost-Hermitian random matrices associated with the classical Gaussian and Laguerre unitary ensembles. The eigenvalues have imaginary parts within a narrow band about the real line, of height proportional to 1/N. Our approach used Ward's equation and a property called cross-section convergence, relating the large-N limit of the cross-sections of eigenvalue density with the equilibrium density for the corresponding Hermitian ensemble. Bulk universality of the almost-circular ensembles was proven as an application of our approach.

Szego Type Asymptotics for the Reproducing Kernel in Spaces of Full-Plane Weighted Polynomials

Yacin Ameur et al.

Summary: This paper studies the asymptotic behavior of the reproducing kernel Kn(z, w) of weighted polynomials Wn in the subspace Wn of L-2(C,dA). An asymptotic formula is derived for the Ginibre kernel, and it is shown to generalize to a larger class of potentials Q(z). The derivation uses the theory of approximate full-plane orthogonal polynomials and introduces new techniques. In the off-diagonal case, an asymptotic expression for the correlations is obtained.

A Vector Equilibrium Problem for Symmetrically Located Point Charges on a Sphere

Juan G. Criado del Rey et al.

Summary: This study investigates the equilibrium measure on a two-dimensional sphere in the presence of an external field generated by symmetrically located point charges. The droplet, known as the support of the equilibrium measure, is characterized by a vector equilibrium problem for multiple measures in the complex plane. The model undergoes two transitions, reflected in the support of the minimizer of the vector equilibrium problem.

Asymptotics of determinants with a rotation-invariant weight and discontinuities along circles

Christophe Charlier

Summary: In this paper, the moment generating function of the disk counting statistics of a two-dimensional determinantal point process is studied. The large n asymptotics for this function are obtained, and the large n asymptotics of all the cumulants of the disk counting function for this point process are derived.

A localization theorem for the planar Coulomb gas in an external field

Yacin Ameur

Summary: This study examines a two-dimensional Coulomb gas and proves that it is effectively localized near a droplet under the influence of an external field. The research also provides estimates for the one-point function near the droplet, showing a fast uniform decay as distance increases from the droplet.

A Non-Hermitian Generalisation of the Marchenko-Pastur Distribution: From the Circular Law to Multi-criticality

Gernot Akemann et al.

Summary: This study investigates the complex eigenvalues of a random matrix model involving rectangular complex Ginibre matrices correlated through a non-Hermiticity parameter t. The global limiting density and its support are obtained, showing a shifted ellipse. The square root of the complex Wishart eigenvalues is supported in a domain parametrised by a quartic equation, displaying a lemniscate type transition at a critical value.
