Direct fabrication of NbS2 nanoflakes on carbon fibers by atomic layer deposition for ultrasensitive cardiac troponin I detection

Yazhou Huang et al.

Summary: An electrochemical biosensor for ultrasensitive cardiac troponin I (cTnI) detection was fabricated by directly depositing NbS2 nanoflakes (NFs) on carbon fiber paper (CFP) using atomic layer deposition (ALD). The uniform and accurate deposition of NbS(2)NFs on the carbon fiber surface was achieved by controlling the number of ALD cycles, ensuring ultrasensitive detection. The nanoscale morphology and electrochemical performance of NbS2 nanoflakes were precisely regulated by ALD cycles. The fabricated electrochemical biosensor based on NbS(2)NFs/CFP exhibited a linear range for the ultrasensitive detection of cTnI from 1 fM to 0.1 nM with a detection limit of 0.32 fM.

Development of a simple enzyme-linked hybrid-sandwich assay for sensitive detection of cardiac troponin I

Husile Bai et al.

Summary: This work presents a simple enzyme-linked hybrid-sandwich assay (ELHSA) for the detection of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), an important cardiac biomarker. The study designed a unique capture antibody-target detection aptamer configuration, and obtained optimal antibody-aptamer combination and ratio between streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase conjugate and biotin-modified aptamer. The research revealed a beneficial interaction mode between cTnI and the two recognition elements, and discovered that bovine serum albumin can be used as an enhancer in the detection process.

Sandwich-type electrochemical aptasensor based on hollow mesoporous carbon spheres loaded with porous dendritic Pd@Pt nanoparticles as signal amplifier for ultrasensitive detection of cardiac troponin I

Zhenxing Wang et al.

Summary: Signal amplification is essential for improving the sensitivity of electrochemical detection of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), an ideal biomarker for early acute myocardial infarction (AMI) diagnosis. In this study, a novel signal amplification strategy using core-shell Pd@Pt dendritic bimetallic nanoparticles loaded on melamine modified hollow mesoporous carbon spheres (Pd@Pt DNs/NH2-HMCS) was developed for cTnI detection. The synergistic catalysis effect between Pd@Pt DNs and NH2-HMCS significantly enhanced the electrocatalytic reduction of H2O2 and further amplified the signal, demonstrating a wide dynamic range and low detection limit for cTnI detection.
