Innovative Platform for the Advanced Online Monitoring of Three-Dimensional Cells and Tissue Cultures

Sebastian Kress et al.

Summary: The use of 3D cell cultures is becoming increasingly important in medical and pharmaceutical research. However, analyzing the culture medium alone is not representative of the culture conditions in a 3D model, which hinders standardization and translation of results. Researchers have developed a monitoring platform that combines a perfusion bioreactor with a minimally invasive sampling system and sensors to monitor culture parameters and medium compounds in 3D cultures.

Recent developments in the use of peroxygenases - Exploring their high potential in selective oxyfunctionalisations

Markus Hobisch et al.

Summary: Peroxygenases are a new class of enzymes that allow selective oxyfunctionalisation reactions without the need for a cofactor, different from well-known P450 monooxygenases. Recent developments in organic synthesis, molecular biotechnology, and reaction engineering have focused on utilizing these enzymes in industrial applications. There is great potential for peroxygenases in selective oxyfunctionalisations and further studies are required to explore their full capabilities in organic synthesis.
